Road Freight Statistics Survey

We were tasked with moving the current paper-based workflow onto the web. Working with the Department of Transport, we ran a GDS Alpha taking the existing paper forms onto the web, using the gov.uk design system as a basis. We analysed the existing form, optimising it for digital usage, and explored advanced form validation and machine learning. The output of this was then user-tested, ensuring the flow was a simple process, whilst not alienating users who were used to filling out the paper form.

The alpha passed the review stage first time with a view to moving into Beta later this year.
